Theory Tests

Before you can apply to take your practical driving test, you must first pass a theory test. This theory test comprises of two sections, both of which must be passed at the same sitting:
  1. A multiple choice question and answer paper, where you must acheive at least 30/35 to pass.
  2. A Hazard perception test that comprises of a series of fourteen video clips where developing hazards must be identified. In this section you must score at least 44/75 to pass

You will take both sections of the theory test at the test centre using a touch screen computer and mouse.

We can provide help and advice on passing your theory test, from guidance on which books and CD-ROMS to use through to one to one tuition. We have hazard perception and theory training software available to use in-car.

Practical Tests

The practical test will last approximately 40 minutes. It will cover a variety of different road and traffic situations, two manoeuvres and possibly an emergency stop.
There are three types of fault:
  • Minor driving fault
  • Serious fault
  • Dangerous fault

You may have up to 15 minor driving faults, but any serious or dangerous faults will result in a fail.

Our driving tuition is geared toward helping you pass your driving test and preparing you for the test situation.

We cover all areas of the test and ensure that you can perform all the tasks needed in order to pass with flying colours!

The most commonly used test centres for the Bournemouth/Poole area are the Bournemouth and Dorchester centres. However, we are willing to consider other centres upon request.

Our courses also include a mock test with an impartial, external instuctor so that you can get accustomed to test conditions and be evaluated on your progress.
